Privacy Policy

Effective October 4, 2026

The short version

  • The passwords Pass Builder generates are never saved, logged or sent anywhere.
  • The Chrome extension makes no network requests. It works entirely on your device.
  • The only thing the extension remembers is your preferred length and character types, kept in Chrome on your computer.
  • No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Nothing is sold or shared.

The Chrome extension

What it stores

To open with the same settings you used last time, the extension saves four choices: your password length and whether lowercase, uppercase, numbers and symbols are turned on. These are kept with Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your computer only. They are not synced to your Google account or other devices, and they never leave your computer.

You can clear them at any time with Reset to defaults on the extension's Settings page, or by removing the extension.

What it never stores or sends

  • Generated passwords. Each one exists only on screen until you close the dropdown or generate another.
  • Anything about the websites you visit. The extension cannot see your tabs, pages or browsing history.
  • Any personal information. There is no sign-in and nothing to fill out.

Permissions

The extension requests a single permission, storage, used only to remember the four choices above. Copying a password uses your clipboard only when you click the copy button.

Links

The Settings page includes links to this website. Opening them visits the site in a normal browser tab, covered by the website section below.

The website

The generator

The generator at passbuilder.pro runs entirely in your browser. Passwords are created on your device with your browser's built-in cryptographic random number generator and are never sent to our server.

Server logs

Like nearly every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic request details when pages are loaded: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used only to keep the site running and secure, and are not used to identify or profile visitors.

No third parties

Everything the site needs, including its fonts and icons, is served from passbuilder.pro itself. Your browser does not contact Google or any other outside service when you use it.

Cookies

We do not set cookies or use analytics or advertising scripts.

Home Screen shortcut

On a phone or tablet you can add Pass Builder to your Home Screen so it opens like an app. Your device keeps the shortcut and the Pass Builder icon. The shortcut opens the same website described above; it gives us no access to anything on your device, and nothing about it is sent back to us.

Sharing and limited use

We do not sell, rent, trade or share user data with anyone, and we do not use it for advertising, credit decisions or any purpose unrelated to Pass Builder.

The use of information by the Pass Builder Chrome extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Everything else

Children

Pass Builder does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Any change in how the extension handles data will also be reflected in its Chrome Web Store listing before it takes effect.
